Images of Fantasy

Edinburgh – Edinburgh College of Art, University of Edinburgh,

In collaboration with Veneto Region, Sàrmede City Council, the Scottish Storytelling Centre and Edinburgh Printmakers, the Italian Cultural Institute in Edinburgh launches, on the 31st of October ‘Images of Fantasy’ an amazing panorama of original illustrations and recently published books with a magical thematic section dedicated to Scotland.

Curated by Monica Monachesi in collaboration with Fondazione Mostra Internazionale d’lllustrazione per l’Infanzia “Šteˇpán Zavrˇel” of Sàrmede (Treviso - Italy), the exhibition opens up a real creative Observatory, inspired by visions and stories, including some from the historical roots of Scotland and promotes and explores how some of the best visual material from a cultural heritage can still be vivid and contemporary.

There are several collateral contributors to the event, with the guest of honour Giovanni Manna and a thematic publication recently published by Franco Cosimo Panini.
Time: Weekdays 9am-5pm, Saturday & Sunday, 10am-2pm – more info: www.iicedimburgo.esteri.it
